CARE – Language eduCation for inclusion of immigrAnt minoRity studEnts

The CARE project aims to support the integration of migrant students into multilingual educational systems by developing innovative tools and methodologies for language learning. Through tailored outputs such as a Methodological Guidebook, CLIL-based language courses, a digital mentoring programme, and an E-platform, the project empowers educators to create inclusive, effective learning environments. CARE promotes linguistic and cultural inclusion, fostering academic success and social cohesion.

PRIMARY BENEFICIARIES:

  • Pupils aged 7-14 with a migrant background who came across obstacles in integrating into the society due to language problems.
  • Second generation and people with a migrant background
  • Teachers: language educators, tutors, instructors working either in private/public schools or in language centres; this group also includes VET teachers who would like to expand their language knowledge in the context of their subject.

ADDITIONAL BENEFICIARIES:

  • Methodologists and language professionals
  • Families with a migrant background
  • Language schools included those for foreigners
  • Any private language institutions which organise language courses, along with those dedicated to migrant families.
  • Any public entities which may have an impact on accessing and succeeding in mainstream education of migrant students.
  • NGOs: Organizations and associations working with migrants and their reintegration into societies.

PROJECT RESULTS:

  1. Methodological Guidebook for language teachers/ tutors/ linguists supporting language education of pupils with migrant background
  2. CLIL-based language courses incl. integrated AI solutions, addressed to:
    • pupils aged 7-14 (BICS and CALP modules in the language of schooling; level A1-B1)
    • pupils aged 11-14 (BICS and CALP modules in the language of schooling; level A1-B2)
  3. Methodology of TELMS-based digital mentoring including a set of digital tools that can be used to support language education of migrant (bilingual) schoolchildren and their everyday functioning
  4. E-platform gathering all outputs and enabling teachers to share their experiences, learning materials, comments, feedback and ideas.
